My Bookish Self

Hello!  My name is Julia. I'm a 26-year-old book nerd and a longtime lover of stories.  For as long as I can remember, I've preferred to spend my time in fictional worlds as opposed to the real one. Books -- even those containing the most fantastical stories and outlandish adventures -- have always helped me make sense of life, and I truly am not sure where or who I'd be without them.

This blog was born not only of a need to share my thoughts and feelings about the stories I read with my fellow book nerds, but also of a need to feel creative and inspired again. Reading and writing are two of my greatest loves, and combining them to create this blog only made sense. Adding in the challenge of learning how to take pretty photos of my books has only served to fuel my once-latent creative energy.  I am beyond excited to start pouring some of that creativity out into the world!

Though I do prefer fantasy worlds, in real life, I live with my fiancée and our two kitties in upstate New York, and I work in law. When I'm not reading or writing, I play video games and trading card games, and I love exercise of all kinds. I'm a huge twenty one pilots fan, and there's not much that I like just a normal amount. That includes my family and friends, who are all some of the coolest people in any world -- real or fictional.
